![]() The two brands are on par in terms of qualities-like being cruelty-free and free from parabens, sulfates, talc, and a handful of other nasty ingredients, but PUR is also vegan, whereas our featured brand isn’t completely vegan. Just like bareMinerals, our competitor has a similar product lineup. In this section of our bareMinerals review, we’ll be comparing our featured brand with PUR cosmetics, another clean makeup and skincare brand. And, its collection offers hundreds of products.Īs more studies about how chemicals and toxic compounds affect our health, clean beauty brands continue to rise. Today, one is sold every 18 seconds.īased in NYC, the brand is available in thousands of retailers across the US and Canada. The brand’s signature product, the Original Loose Powder Foundation, has been the same since the day it was launched, using only five mineral ingredients to deliver flawless coverage and skin-boosting effects. Holding seminars and teaching women how to create the perfect complexion really helped them to establish a reliable customer base. Developed by Leslie Blodgett, the brand got its start on QVC before opening shops across the US.īlodgett claims that bareMinerals’ success is thanks to the way the brand connected with women. The brand came on the scene in 1995, a time when “non-toxic” wasn’t as much of a household word as it is today. It’s not there yet but I can see it joining the ranks of HG (holy grail) concealers.Īvailable now at all Bare Escentuals Boutiques as well as favorite retails like Sephora or online at history of makeup is surprisingly dirty-like, what were companies thinking? It’s understandable that certain compounds create color and are easier to work with, but bareMinerals is proof that it didn’t have to be that way. I think my reader’s with more mature eyes will like this one as much as I did. I do caution you though about application as it does have a slight learning curve and could prove a little disappointing your first try with it if you’re a bit heavy handed.Īn excellently formulated concealer from a company who’s spent far to long with powder! If you like thicker concealers on par with Laura Mercier and Bobbi Brown, this is a cheaper alternative with a good quality formula that contains medium to full coverage color pay off to conceal smaller or larger issues under eyes or on face. Again, you do have to practice with it a little bit to get the best technique and amount down to avoid any creasing issues. I also didn’t have problems with it creasing into my finer lines. This wore straight for eight hours with proper prepping and priming. I will say it does give my eyes a very fresh and brighter look when it is on. I’ve only been using it a month or so and can’t speak for any visibly brightening of darkness. It supposedly contains lemon peel extract that works to visibly brighten skin and reduce the appearance of dark spots and discolorations over time. I love Bobbi’s version but I think Bare Minerals improves on that formula with an easier to apply formulation. It does take a little practice to get it looking this fresh as the thicker, creamier texture is a little intimidating at first but I will say it is thinner than Bobbi Brown Concealer. It does run on the thicker side so I do suggest application with a concealer brush so you can slowly build color up without over doing it thus resulting in creasing. ![]() It is however, a thick, creamy concealer with a nicely hydrating finish. It’s not oily or greasy nor does it slide around the eye cream which was what I was expected due to the sun protection. Interestingly enough the SPF in the formulas hasn’t morphed the formula. ![]() It’s such a rarity that eye creams and concealers contain SPF so this is a nice, refreshing change. This is launched in an eight shade selection and not only has a perfectly creamy texture but also boasts a wonderful SPF 20.
